The French rider Anthony Jeanjean and the Swiss Nikita Ducarroz are the new BMX Freestyle Park European Champions of this spectacular discipline which was recently added to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games programme.
The event took place in Moscow (Russia) at the Music Media Dome and the international level of participation was especially qualified with 44 riders from 13 countries.
After the thrilling qualification races on Saturday afternoon, the finals were fiercely contested by Anthony Jeanjean (France) winner with 93 points. The European Champion beat the Russians Irek Rizaev (88.33 points) and Konstantin Andreev (88.16).
Thanks to an excellent performance, Nikita Ducarroz won the Women’s title with 93 points. The Swiss, bronze medallist at the Tokyo Olympic Games came ahead of the German Lara Lessmann, already second at the 2019 European Championships, with 84.33 points, and the Spaniard Teresa Fernandez who obtained the bronze medal with 81 points.
