IN MOSCOW IT’S TIME FOR BMX FREESTYLE PARK EUROPEAN CHAMPS

Everything is ready in Moscow (Russia) for the 2021 edition of the BMX Freestyle Park European Championships that will be held in the modern facility, the Music Media Dome, on 13 and 14 November.

The event in the Russian capital will host some of the best European specialists (30 men and 14 women from a total of 13 countries), including the French rider Anthony Jeanjean, winner of the first European Championships in 2019, the Croat Marin Ranteš bronze medallist at the 2021 World Championships from Montpellier (France) and European Vice-Champion in 2019. In the Women’s, the Olympic bronze medallist at Tokyo 2020, the Swiss Nikita Ducarroz, the German Lara Lessmann and from her home country, the Russian Elizaveta Posadskikh.

Enrico Della Casa, President of the Union Européenne de Cyclisme: «BMX Freestyle is a discipline that has significantly developed over the last few years, the number of practitioners is increasing, especially among young people and the media success at the Tokyo Olympic Games proved this fact. We are always interested in and open to innovations, and we have found the same enthusiasm for this discipline at the Russian Cycling Federation and its President Viacheslav Ekimov. In the next few days, Russian fans will be able to attend a high-level event in the prestigious setting of the Music Media Dome, and above all see close up some of the best athletes from the international scene.»

Viacheslav Ekimov, President of the Russian Cycling Federation: “We are honored to host the European BMX Freestyle Park Championships. It is a progressive, rapidly developing discipline that can attract young people to cycling and help develop our sport in our country.  BMX freestyle events are very entertaining for both: for those who watch it from the stands and for TV viewers.  I am sure this weekend BMX Freestyle will prove its reputation as one of the most exciting sports.  We are looking forward to the start of this competition.  We would like to thank all the teams who are coming to Moscow during this difficult time, the European Cycling Union for their confidence in holding the European Championships and, of course, we wish good luck to all the participants of the Championships .”
