Charlotte Worthington and Anthony Jeanjean are the first BMX Freestyle Park European champions of this spectacular discipline that will be a new addition to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games programme in less than 10 months.
This event, an Olympic qualification event, was held in Cadenazzo (Switzerland) in the brand new modern facility in the Canton of Ticino, with a particularly high level of participation: 48 riders from 13 countries.
Following the exciting qualification events on Saturday afternoon, the finals, cheered on by a huge audience, were fiercely fought: Anthony Jeanjean (France) won with 93 points ahead Marin Rantes (Croatia) with 91,20 points and Declan Brooks (Great Britain), third with 91 points
Thanks to her excellent performance, Charlotte Worthington (Great Britain) won the women’s title with 91,60 points. Silver medal for Lara Lessmann (Germany) with 84,60 points, bronze for Elizaveta Posadskikh (Russia) with 82,80 points.
