The town of Jeumont, in the heart of the Département du Nord in Haute-France, will be hosting the 2024 Trials European Championships on 28 and 29 September.
The event, organised by the Team VTT Jeumont and the French Cycling Federation, will award a total of six continental titles: in addition to the Elite and Junior Men's categories (which will compete for the 20" and 26" titles), two jerseys will be awarded for the very first time to the Women: one for the Elites and one for the Juniors.
Enrico Della Casa, President of the Union Européenne de Cyclisme: "The 2024 Trials European Championships represent a historic moment for the activities of the Union Européenne de Cyclisme, as they are accompanied by an important innovation: for the first time, the European title will also be awarded in the Junior Women's category. This marks an important step towards gender equality in European cycling and reflects our federation's commitment to promoting fairness and inclusion in sport.
The choice of Jeumont, so active in Trials thanks to the presence of the permanent Trail Park, is a further sign of our desire to promote and support this discipline.
I would like to express the gratitude of the European cycling family to the organisers of the event, the Team VTT Jeumont and its President Jean Pierre Delaique, to the French Cycling Federation with its President Michel Callot, who is always very active on the continent, to the town of Jeumont and its Mayor Pascal Ori, and to all the volunteers who work tirelessly to make this event possible, in which more than 100 athletes from some twenty countries will take part".
