The Union Européenne de Cyclisme’s Management Board, which was held virtually today, discussed important new developments for the future of European cycling.
During the Board meeting, the President UEC Enrico Della Casa gave a report on the activities of the Continental Confederation during his first ten months in charge and set objectives for the near future.
The success of European events over the last few seasons and the UEC’s active co-operation with affiliated National Federations, of which there are now 51, after the official recognition of Vatican Cycling by the Union Cycliste Internationale, confirm the UEC’s fundamental role in promoting cycling and consequently the Management Board has launched a range of initiatives aimed at strengthening the actions taken.
Among these include the introduction of the BMX European Cup, now tested and successful, that will include 12 races next season, development of the new Cyclo-Cross Youth, Juniors and Under 23s and the launch of the Coupe d’Europe des Grimpeurs 2022 for Juniors, Under 23s, Elite and Masters, that will include, on the same day, a Road race and Time-Trial (with the final ranking based on the sum of times) which will be held in Tremola - San Gottardo (Switzerland) on 31 July 2022.
During the meeting, the 2022 calendar was approved.

2023 Cyclo-Cross European Championships: Pontchâteau (FRA)
