Col du Vam (Drenthe), The Netherlands, will welcome the 2021 UEC Cyclo-cross European Championships on 6 and 7 November.
Over 350 women and men from around thirty countries will be competing in the continental competition for two days of racing, where 6 titles will be awarded, plus those in the Masters categories.
Enrico Della Casa, President of the Union Européenne de Cyclisme: «The Cyclo-cross European Championships have always been particularly important as they are a great cultural opportunity for young athletes in their first international experience and also a great highlight in terms of competition but also a moment of high level as it regards the competitive aspect for the major categories.
For one weekend, European cycling will gather in an iconic venue of cyclo-cross: Col du Vam (Drenthe), which in recent years has hosted high level events.
I would like to thank the Dutch Cycling Federation, its President Marc van den Tweel, the Province of Drenthe, with its Deputy Henk Brink and especially the organisers Courage Events in cooperation Libéma Profcycling, our historic partners in the organisation of major events in the Netherlands, who in such a difficult year, were keen to host the event which embodies the UEC’s main philosophy of promoting cycling to guarantee a great future for our sport.»
